Hello! My name is Julie Apagya Bonney and I am a Civil Engineering student at George Washington University in Washington D.C. This semester I am working as a Research assistant at DC Water which is a Water Treatment facility in SW DC. I am looking for a Summer internship doing design work related. DC Water. Reseach Assitant

January 2021 -Present

 

DC Water is a Water Treatment plant and Water Research Lab in Washington D.C. I work in the research portion of the facility under a PhD student as I follow her and learn the day to day skills on the pilot. I have begun taking on the Performance portion of the lab that is further explained in the Projects tab.

 

 

School of Engineering at GWU. Laboratory Technician

I have worked as a Laboratory Technician at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at George Washington University since I was a freshman​. I work on a plethora of Lab issues such as the Av system, loaner request, 3D printing and other parts of the lab

 

 

Flatiron Construction. Field Engineer Intern

​June 2020 - December 2020

 

​This summer and for Fall 2020 I worked as a Field Engineer Intern where I learned how house tools such as Blue Beam and Procore. I worked looking at bridge drawing and calculating different quantity estimates of piping on the project, rebar, tiebacks and other various materials on the site. I also worked on site doing surveying and speaking and working with Foremen and Journeymen on site.

I am 2nd semester Junior at GW and an active member on campus. I am one of the Co-Captains on the Steel Bridge Team, Member of Alpha Omega Epsilon an Engineering sorority at GW,  a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, an Orientation Leader for incoming freshman and ​Percussionist in my school pep Band the Colonial Brass.
